CW Finds New Home on Local 7

By: Michael C. Fehn
Updated: January 29, 2013
There's something supernatural going on at Local 7.

Beginning this Thursday, January 31st, Local 7 will become the new Tri-State home to the CW network, bringing popular programs like "The Vampire Diaries", "Supernatural", "Nikita", and "The Carrie Diaries" back to local airwaves.

Mission Broadcasting, Inc. President and COO, Dennis P. Thatcher said, "When Mission acquired WTVW fourteen months ago, we made a commitment to offer TriState viewers the very best local programming, news and information -- and feedback from the community confirms we have delivered on that goal."  Thatcher went on to say, "Our affiliation with CW combined with our station's Local 7 Eyewitness News and unique community-focused programming allows us to deliver the market's best mix of great entertainment and information to our viewers."

Local 7 Vice President and General Manager, Arika Zink says, "Our Tri-State viewers are directly affected by the events that occur in their communities and neighborhoods.  They rely on Local 7 as their primary resource for the most relevant local news, sports and entertainment programming. WTVW's new partnership with the CW demonstrates our commitment to provide compelling entertainment, interactivity, and depth tailored to the needs and interests of local viewers as well as offer a range of superior, effective marketing solutions for our advertisers."

In addition to bringing CW programming into the homes of the Tri-State, CW fans will also find a new, interactive page just for them, right here at tristatehomepage.com.  Features will include exclusive content on many CW programs.  Fans will also be able to connect with each other through Facebook and Twitter.
