It's a story that's making headlines everywhere, and causing online outrage.  A central Indiana couple saves a hurt baby deer, but now they could be headed to jail.  In 2010, a Connersville couple nursed an injured baby deer back to health.  Now, they're charged with illegal possession of a white-tailed deer and could face up to 60 days in jail and a fine.  Some Hoosiers say the law is backwards, and believe it's not fair for this couple to be punished for helping an animal.

"We understand why you picked them up. However, this is not a cat, it's not a dog. It's a wild animal and wild animals do wild animal things and they belong in the wild," IN Conservation Officer, Mike Kellner said.

DNR says if you rescue a wild animal, contact them immediately, so they can get the animal to a licensed wildlife rehabilitator.
