Updated: January 30, 2013
At least two people were injured after severe weather blows through Saline County, Illinois Tuesday night. Several homes were damaged, multiple trees were up-rooted and numerous power lines were knocked down around Galatia. Officials say it appears straight line winds caused the damage.

The Saline County Sheriff's Office confirms its dispatch received numerous 9-1-1 calls reporting damage and people trapped shortly after 10 p.m.

Officials say one person suffered a head injury and was taken to Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, and a second person went to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Deputies say at least three people were trapped in three separate houses in Galatia. Multiple agencies worked to free the trapped residents along Walker Street. They are continuing to search the area for additional injuries.

Officials are warning residents to stay away from power lines, as the lines could become energized at any time.
