Owensboro High School Alum Promoted to Major

A special ceremony to honor an Owensboro native as she moves up the ranks in the Air Force. Today, Captain Sarah Chelgren-Brooks was promoted to major. Major Brooks is stationed in New Mexico but is on leave right now while visiting home. She decided to receive her promotion in front of friends and family at Owensboro High School.
"A promotion is always special and important," said Major Brooks, "but to get your family to be able to see it and participate in it just makes it that much sweeter. And doing it at OHS was also important to me because I graduated from here."
Major Brooks says she's honored to be able to share this moment not only with her family, but with the JROTC cadets.
