If the Blue Bridge in Owensboro is part of your regular commute, then this news likely won't make you very happy.
The Convention and Visitors Bureau says the bridge will be closing for several months this summer. Officials say the bridge needs to be painted, and instead of taking years by closing a lane at a time, crews will shut down both lanes in May, right after the Barbeque Festival.
The bridge is expected to remain closed for as long as six months, reopening in late October or November.
