New information on the effort to keep sex offenders from using social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. There's now a new bill making its way through the Indiana legislature that would give violators at least a year in jail. You may remember last month, a federal appeals court ruled Indiana's ban on sex offenders from social networking sites is "unconstitutional." Legislators have completely re-written the bill, so that it would only apply to offenders who knowingly used these kinds of forums or chat rooms to communicate with kids under the age of 16. The bill has cleared a committee and is on its way to the full Senate.
