Resurrection Students Challenged to "Make a Difference"

An elementary school is helping students raise money for charity, while learning about fundraising. 1st graders at Resurrection Elementary in Evansville were given $5 by their teacher to try to "make a difference" in the community. The students presented their fundraising amounts in a presentation today at the school.
"They are allowed to take their $5," said 1st Grade Teacher Jennifer Vangampler, "and spend at however they want to, or they can go and ask other people for donations. Some have just done the five and other, we have up to $560."
The class raised over $2,400 this year. This is the third year for the "Make a Difference" challenge at Resurrection.
