Convicted Sex Offender Sentenced to Wear Sign in Petersburg

By: Michael C. Fehn

You may see a man serving a unique sentence if you're driving through Pike County on Friday.

Larry Bass is a registered sex offender who recently pleaded guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor by admitting to buying alcohol for a 14-year-old.

As a sentence, the judge is making Bass walk around the streets of Petersburg while carrying a sign that says "registered sex offender who bought alcohol for kids."

Bass's brother says he wants people to know this is not the full sentence.  He tells Eyewitness News that Larry Bass has already served 3 years on the charge of providing alcohol to a minor.  Bass has another year and three months to serve on the sentence, but he agreed to carry the sign in order to get six months knocked off his sentence.

We have a crew in Petersburg, and we will have more on this story tonight.

I am Larry Bass's older brother. First off, if your gonna blast my brother get your [censored] right. Yes, he has to hold a sign, but if you actually did your job you would know that thats not his only punisment, He has already spent 3 years in jail for this, so he has already did his time. The only reason he did this stunt was to know a couple months off his sentence. Even after this stunt he will still have over 8 more months of time to serve so a total of almost 4 years total for buying alcahol to a minor. So, next time you dont give all info on a topic just for ratings yo better make sure its not my brother.
