The Stars Come Out To Help "Idol" Charity Show
Hollywoods brightest stars are helping shine on light on poverty across the world.
Last night, Foxs "Idol Gives Back" special featured vignettes of celebrities showcasing people in Africa and the U.S. facing tough times.
The two-and-a-half-hour special featured singers Bono, Alicia Keys, Annie Lennox and Chris Daughtry in Africa.
Actor Brad Pitt visited needy people in the U.S., as did Peyton and Eli Manning, Reese Witherspoon, Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus and "Idol" judges Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.
Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg, Carrie Underwood and Fergie were among the artists who entertained the crowd.
Last year, the inaugural "Idol Gives Back" raised 75-million dollars for charity.
This year, organizers hope to raise nearly 100-million.
As of the midway point of last nights show, host Ryan Seacrest said the donation tally was up to 22-million dollars.
