The city of Jasper is preparing for former President Bill Clintons visit tomorrow and one local businessman has a personal connection. Keith fritz met the Clintons in 2000 when they asked him to make furniture for their home. When former President Bill Clinton announced his plans to campaign for wife Hillary Clinton in Jasper, at least one local businessman in particular was very pleased. "They love campaigning, meeting people, listening, shaking hands. I think theyre gonna enjoy their visit here." Keith Fritz knows because it was through his furniture business that he got to know the Clintons in 2000. "I got the privilege of building their dining table for their home up in Chappaqua whenever they left the White House." Leading to appearances in a number of national newspapers and magazines. "It helped our company grow. It helps create jobs here." Leading him to form a friendship and lobby the Clintons to make a stop in his hometown. "I think is a real privilege, theyre really wonderful people and Im really glad that our community is gonna get the opportunity to see them up close and personal." Mayor William Schmitt also thinks having the former president stop at Jasper Middle School is historic. As the citys police and other departments make preparations. "Anytime you have an opportunity to see a president and meet a president . I think it doesnt matter what your political affiliation is." And it will only aid those in the community who are lucky enough to get into the event a chance to make an informed decision. "I think it will help the people decide who they want who they want to lead their country. The former president will speak at the Boonville High School at 2pm, then head to the Jasper Middle School at 4:45pm eastern time. After that, its off to Vincennes University for an appearance at 8:15pm eastern time. City officials say its general admission, first come first served.
