Accident Involves Fire Truck Responding to House Fire

By: Chris Veech
Updated: February 13, 2013
A fire truck never makes it to a burning house in Evansville. Around 2:00 p.m. the Evansville Fire Department fire truck was headed to a home on Reitz Hill. Investigators say when the truck crossed the Lloyd Expressway at St. Joseph's Ave., a car didn't stop and hit the truck. No one was seriously hurt.

Other fire crews did make it to the house fire. Firefighters found a small kitchen fire, which took only minutes to put out. There is smoke damage in other parts of the home. No one was home when the fire started, and no word on a cause.
