Illinois Senate Approves Same-Sex Marriage

A Valentine's Day vote for love. That's what the president of the Illinois State Senate called their approval of same-sex marriage today. 34 lawmakers voted in favor of lifting the ban on same-sex marriage in the Land of Lincoln. The House still has to vote, but the bill is expected to pass there making Illinois the tenth state to allow gay couples to marry. Governor Pat Quinn has promised to sign the bill.
