Inmates Moved to Gyms Due to Overcrowded Illinois Prisons

Six Illinois state prisons are too crowded, and some inmates will have to stay in the buildings' gyms. The American Federation of State, County, and Municipal employees says the planned closure of a northern Illinois prison is forcing this move. Only minimum-security inmates will be moved to the gyms to limit security concerns.
