Both Sides Claiming Victory in Proposed Gasification Plant Debate

Both sides are claiming victory in the latest court battle involving the proposed coal gasification plant in Rockport. In October, a court ruled one part of the deal signed to bring the plant to the area was unconstitutional. Vectren claims there are actually several parts of the deal that should be unconstitutional. The court of appeals ruled those additional sections in question are okay. Indiana Gasification says this is a victory for supporters. However, Vectren says one part of the deal remains unconstitutional, and if one part is bad, the entire agreement is void. The Indiana Supreme Court will likely have the final say in the matter.
