The Indiana budget proposal took another step today but not without taking some shots from Democrats. The House Ways and Means committee voted 18-4 to substitute the GOP budget for Governor Mike Pence's original spending plan. This budget increases education spending by more than $300 million over the next two years. But Urban Democrats say it shortens their districts, and that the budget is unclear about where all the money is going. The committee will consider several other amendments tomorrow, before taking a final vote on the budget bill.
