Sections of Interstate 69 extension could be renamed for three fallen Tri-State officers. An Indiana Senate committee gives unanimous support to rename the areas. A section near Oakland City would be renamed for Oakland City Officer Michael Deno, eho was shot during a traffic stop in 2000. Another area would be renamed for State Trooper Joe Trees, who died in 1972 during a chase. The third section for Sgt. John Hatful, who was killed in 1987 during a standoff in Posey County. This legislation is up for a vote in the full Senate.
