Woman Found Dead in Evansville Apartment Identified

UPDATE- The person of interest in a death investigation in Evansville is in police custody.
45-year-old David Royalty is being questioned by detectives.

Evansville Police have identified the woman found dead in a Michigan Street apartment early Friday morning.

Around midnight, officers were sent to investigate an unresponsive woman at in the 200 block of West Michigan Street.  There, they say they found 49-year-old Toni Smith dead, and are treating her death as suspicious.

Right now, officers are looking for 45-year-old David Wayne Royalty.  He was last seen riding a blue mountain bike, and is believed to have no permanent address. 

An autopsy on Smith is pending.  Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police right away.
