Experts believe the price of gas could be between $4.50 to $5.00 a gallon by summer.
Those same experts say the price hike is caused, in part by, a lack of local supply and a weak dollar.
Some of the mid-west supply has been shipped to the east coast to cover for refineries that closed last year.
In Evansville, gas prices are averaging $3.69 a gallon.
Henderson drivers are paying anywhere from $3.59 to $3.62 a gallon.
And in Carmi, the only gas station that reports there has the price at $3.88 a gallon.
