The State Senate voted in favor of the bill on Monday. The bill would allow riverboat operators to move their gaming operations onto land.
Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, who at one time supported the bill, says amendments, including those to the tax structure, have caused him to withdraw that support. Winnecke says the bill, in its current state, will cost the city several hundred thousand dollars a year.
