Controversial Ordinance Goes Before Evansville City Council Tuesday

The Evansville City Council is slated to discuss a controversial proposal on Tuesday, which would would make landlords more accountable for residential properties.
If passed, property owners would be required to have a license to rent, so there would never be any question on who to call if crime on a property got out of hand.
Evansville Police and the city's neighborhood associations are in favor of the ordinance.
The city council will also have a special meeting to discuss the ordinance.
