Study Suggests School Breakfast Goes a Long Way

By: Michael C. Fehn
Updated: February 28, 2013
According to a new study, school breakfast does more than provide children with essential nutrients.

According to new analysis, a healthy school breakfast has the potential to significantly impact their academic, health and economic futures.

The study shows, on average, students who eat a school breakfast have been shown to achieve more than 17-percent higher scores on standardized math tests and miss fewer days of school.

Researchers also found students who attend class more regularly are 20-percent more likely to graduate from high school, and high school graduates typically earn ten-thousand dollars more a year.
