Students across Evansville will soon be learning about water quality.

The city's Rain Barrel program kicked off today at Mesker Park Zoo.  This year's theme is "Every Drop Counts".  More than 50 55-gallon barrels were donated this year.  Organizers say the program also helps kids learn about storm water.

"We do have programs that teach storm water quality to kids.," says Karan Barnhill, Evansville's Storm Water Coordinator.  "I reached over 850 kids through programs.  So, it's an education benefit as well as a water conservation effort."

Barnhill says this year they're restricting the number of entries to the silent auction.  More than 130 rain barrels were auctioned off last year.
