Updated: March 6, 2013
Two Henderson Police officers were stabbed Tuesday while conducing a welfare check.

According to police documents, Officers Daniel Burden and Robert Gipson were called to 961 Village Brook Drive early Tuesday morning.   Burden and Gipson say while they were talking to Jon Hattabaugh about a protective order violation, they noticed he needed medical attention.  But, they say, as they tried to help Hattabaugh, he started fighting with them.  At one point, according to the officers, all three men fell to the ground, and that's when they say Hattabaugh stabbed them.

Officers Burden and Gipson were not seriously injured.  They were both treated and released from Methodist Hospital.

Hattabaugh is charged with two counts of assault, harassment with physical contact and violating an Emergency Protective Order.
