Medicaid is at the center of a love-hate relationship Indiana lawmakers have with federal dollars. Legislators are weighing whether or not to sign off on a bill that would bring $10.5 billion in federal money to Indiana. Indiana's budget director and lieutenant governor announced that automatic budget cuts wouldn't faze the state, and Indiana needs to continue to pursue federal defense money. Former Governor Mitch Daniels built his image decrying out-of-control spending in Washington but often accepted money saying "he'd be a fool not to."
