Perdue Donates $5,000 to Owensboro CTC

Owensboro CTC is getting some help bringing an award winning author to their campus.
Perdue Farms donated $5,000 to the college for their Common Reading program. A portion of it will sponsor an appearance by author Reyna Grande. Grande will speak on Tuesday, March 26, and Blandford Hall. School President Dr. Jim Klauber says they're excited to have an author like Grande come to campus.
"She's a relatively young author, and, what we believe to be an up and comer in her literary career," he says. "So, it's really exciting to get her now at this point and time in her career, and have here visit with out students."
Grande's written several books, including "The Distance Between Us", a memoir about her life before and after illegally immigrating to the U.S.
