Police Question Alleged Stabbing Victim's Story

Evansville Police say they are having a hard time accepting the story of an alleged stabbing victim.
Gary Effinger claims he was stabbed overnight on North Main Street, near the Buy-Low grocery store.
Officers say Effinger had a stab wound to the stomach, which required surgery. However, police say this is the third time this year Effinger has claimed someone else stabbed him, and police say he gives them the same story each time. They also say the two previous reports were hoaxes.
