Kentucky Derby Museum Visits East Heights Elementary School

The magic of Churchill Downs comes to a Henderson school today. The
Kentucky Derby Museum outreach program visits East Heights Elementary.
The program is intended to address the importance of Kentucky's academic
expectations and program studies guidelines with a fun theme of the
Kentucky Derby. Students participated in several activities including
the costs of buying and training a race horse.
"It's kind of hard to see what they actually know and what they didn't know," said Family Resource Coordinator Melissa Walker. "But they're definitely learning a lot of history about the derby along with some educational facts to kind of reinforce their learning in the classroom."
East Heights Family Resource sponsors the program.
