The man who slammed into a Henderson Police Officer's car on Thursday says he didn't see the cruiser until it was too late.

Police say Officer Jake Isonhood was responding to a business alarm when he tried to cross Highway 41.  After traffic stopped, investigators say Isonhood drove through the intersection, and was hit by Steven Maxey of Evansville, who was turning on to the highway.  Maxey says a loud semi that had stopped prevented him from hearing or seeing the officer's car.

Isonhood was taken to Methodist Hospital with non life threatening injuries.  The Henderson County Sheriff's Office says Maxey isn't facing charges at this time.
