Indiana Democrats Introduce Legislation over Daniels Becoming Purdue President

Indiana Democrats don't want to see another governor go straight from
the State House to a university president's office. The appointment of
Mitch Daniels as president at Purdue ruffled a few feathers since the
appointment came while Daniels was still governor. Democrats in
Indianapolis introduce legislation that would require governors to be
out of office for at least one year before they could be appointed head
of a state university in Indiana. The House defeats the proposal on a
primarily party line vote of 65-28.
