Webster County Inmate Escapes

Tri-state authorities are now on the lookout for another inmate.  Kentucky State Police say 30-year old Anthony Knaggs escaped from the Webster County detention facility just before 7:30 Tuesday night.    Knaggs, who was in jail for robbery, managed to escape from the workshop area of the detention center.  They found his jail-issued clothing near the facility Wednesday morning, but not the brown, hooded Carhartt jacket he was wearing.  Police believe he is possibly en route to his hometown of Taylor,Michigan.  He is described as 5'9", around 165 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He's considered to be armed and dangerous, based on his previous record with a firearm.  Below is the news release sent out Wednesday morning.

INMATE FROM WEBSTER COUNTY DETENTION CENTER ESCAPES

Dixon, KY (Webster County) On Tuesday, April 15, 2008, the Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville was contacted by the Webster County Detention Center in reference to an escapee. The escapee, Anthony D. Knaggs, left from the workshop area of the detention center at approximately 7:20 p.m. CST on April 15. He was last seen wearing khaki Department of Corrections pants, t-shirt, black & white New Balance tennis shoes and a brown Carhartt jacket with a hood. The t-shirt has WCRCC inmate embroidered on the left chest area. Webster County Detention Center employees found Mr. Knaggs’ jail issued clothing this morning (4/16) near the detention center. The only piece of clothing not found was the Carhartt jacket with hood. Mr. Knaggs may possibly be en route to Taylor, Michigan.

Age: 30
Sex: Male
Race: White
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 165
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Hazel
Mr. Knaggs had been incarcerated for Robbery 2nd Degree.
