Evansville fire investigators say an early morning house was deliberately set. Crews were called out to 648 Maryland Street at three oclock. They knew it was suspicious from the start. They tell us the home had been vacant for several years and didnt have any utilities inside. Investigators are looking into another overnight fire that may be related to the Maryland Street blaze. A house in the 100 block of East Louisiana, about five blocks from the Maryland Street scene, caught fire about an hour later. The building was also vacant with no utilities. It was fully engulfed when crews arrived and it also caught the neighboring house on fire.
