Atlas World Group promotes IT veteran to CIO Mike Neeley named chief information officer
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Atlas World Group promoted information technology veteran Michael E. Neeley to chief information officer. Neeley, who has 28 years of experience, joined Atlas in 2005 after serving as chief information officer for Evansville’s Deaconess Health System. Neeley replaces former chief technology officer Dick Arneson, who retired earlier this year. As vice president of information technology development for Atlas Van Lines—Atlas’ largest subsidiary—Neeley helped Atlas build its technology prowess in the relocation, transportation and logistics industries. In his new role, Neeley will be responsible for providing secure, superior, up-to-the-minute technology for all Atlas World Group employees, subsidiaries and agents. “Atlas is a technological leader in an industry that is increasingly relying on cutting-edge equipment and superior information systems,” said Glen Dunkerson, vice chairman and chief operating officer of Atlas World Group. “Mike’s vast knowledge and leadership skills will continue to build on the advancements we’ve made through previous technology changes and improvements—ultimately making it easier and more efficient for our customers and agents to conduct business.” Neeley retired as a Lieutenant Commander of the Navy in 1993 after serving nearly 26 years. He earned his bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1979 and a master’s degree in 1987 from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif.
