SPECIAL DAY FOR SPECIAL NEEDS AT CHICK-FIL-A
First Christian Church in Newburgh to host outing for families with special kids
First Christian Church in Newburgh is proud to sponsor “Special Needs Day @ Chick-fil-A” on Saturday, May 10th from 9:00—11:00 a.m. at the Chick-fil-A Crosspointe on Evansville’s east side. The event is designed to give those with special needs children of all ages a place to go to celebrate their family.
“It’s a fun day to share with our community to celebrate the gift of being a special needs family and to also bring awareness to our community,” says Heather Groves, the church’s Director of Special Needs. “Many of these families cannot go out to eat for the fears or reality of ‘stares’ by others. This event gives families a day to come together and be excited about who they are.”
The event will be filled with all kinds of different activities. Inflatables, games, and the Chick-fil-A cow will be a part of the morning along with P.A.A.W.S. Animal Rescue. Children will also get the opportunity to decorate their own mini-cake in celebration of Mother’s Day. At 10:00 a.m. there will be a Music and Movement activity led by Casey DePriest, a board certified Music Therapist through Integrative Music Therapy, LLC.
