New Harmony Bridge Opening Delayed

Update: The opening of the New Harmony Bridge has once again been postponed.
The White County Bridge Commission said earlier this week that a conference call Friday with state and federal transportation officials might reopen it, but they tell us the next possible date to clear it will be Wednesday, April 30.
The bridge has been closed since September for emergency repairs.

The bridge over the Wabash River near New Harmony may be open by the end of the week.

The White County Bridge Commission says they have a conference call scheduled for this Friday with state and federal transportation officials.
They hope to get the ok to open the bridge during the call, but the head of the Commission says hes gotten his hopes up in the past only to be disappointed.
Commission officials also say that the reports that the bridge was damaged during the recent earthquakes are not true.
