From: Fox 7 News & a News Release From the City of Evansville Gateway Consultants Release Final Report on Roberts Stadium Basic recommendations Named in the Report: ---Do NOT Renovate Roberts, Find a New Venue ---The Arena should be located in Downtown Evansville ---The Arena should be multi-purpose with a seating capacity of 10,000 ---Public/Private partnerships should be formed to Provide Funding ---The current Roberts Stadium Property should be redeveloped in a non-competing manner Thursday afternoon Gateway Consultants released its 150 page report that details recommendations for the future of Roberts Stadium in Evansville. You can see that report through this web link http://www.evansvillegov.org/download/Evansville%20Report%20May%2001%202008.pdf or by visiting the City of Evansvilles website at www.evansvillegov.org City officials say this is not a final decision and is not the end of the process. They add that this is not "what the City will do". The report is simply a summary of facts and conclusions from Gateway Consultants, who were hired by the City to conduct a needs assessment to determine Evansvilles present and future requirements for an arena-type facility. The next step will be that the Roberts Stadium Advisory Board will meet with a facilitator and come up with their list of recommendations for the City about the future of Roberts Stadium.
