Greenville Teen Killed in Mother's Day Crash

News Release From: Kentucky State Police Fatal Accident, Sunday, May 11, 2008 at 9:30 p.m. 17-year-old Ashley Rushing was operating a 1996 Geo Prizm southbound on KY 853 when for an unknown reason the vehicle dropped off the right shoulder of the roadway. Ms. Rushing overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle crossed the centerline and exited off the left shoulder of the roadway. It struck an earth embankment and overturned coming to rest on its top. Ms. Rushing was ejected from the vehicle. The Greenville teen was pronounced dead at the scene by the Muhlenberg County Coroner, Tony Armour. The passenger, 16-year-old George Henson Jr., was transported by a private vehicle to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Neither subject was wearing a seatbelt. The crash remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
