News Release: From: Kentucky State Police Death Investigation Oak Grove, KY (Christian County) On Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at approximately 12:48 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville received a call from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department in reference to a vehicle crash involving injuries on Interstate 24 at approximately the 86 mile-marker. At approximately 1:33 p.m., Tpr. Mark Franklin arrived at the scene. Through the course of Tpr. Franklin’s investigation, it was learned that Clifton D. Price age 73 of St. Louis, MO was operating a 2008 Saturn Vue eastbound on I-24. As Mr. Price was exiting onto the ramp located at the 86 mile-marker, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. It appears Mr. Price may have died before the vehicle crash. Mr. Price was transported from the scene to the Blanchfield Army Community Hospital. His wife, Gertha Price age 65, was a passenger in the vehicle. She was transported to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. At the present time, it appears that Mr. Price may have experienced a medical emergency which caused him to loose consciousness and subsequently exit off the roadway. An autopsy has been requested. The investigation is continuing by Tpr. Mark Franklin.
