Memorials are planned for a soldier killed in Iraq with ties to Evansville. 22-year-old Joseph Ford of Knox, Indiana was killed in a roll-over accident near al Asad on Friday. His wife is from Evansville. Ford married her last June. He was a turret gunner with the 76th Infantry Brigade. The Indiana Patriot Guard Riders tell us his remains will arrive Sunday. This Saturday, they plan to hold a memorial ride in honor of all the soldiers fighting in Iraq. The Patriot Guard Riders will visit all the graves of local soldiers who have died at war. They say a public memorial is scheduled for Ford on Tuesday at the armory in Evansville. Well bring you more details as we get them.
