A mysterious bug has caused more than 100 students at a Warrick County elementary school to get sick, but no one seems to know what it is. 174 kids were sent home yesterday with stomach pains. The common symptoms, vomiting, diarrhea, some had fevers. Health officials first suspected a possible food contamination, but have since ruled that out. They now believe the problem to be a viral infection, but officials advise parents not to be alarmed. School officials have disinfected all desks and chairs and put hand sanitizers in all classrooms. Health Department Administrator Aaron Franz says the school is safe for kids. The best advice he says is to wash your hands and use the sanitizer, like the flu, there is no remedy for the viral infection, it will just have to run its course. School Superintendent Bob Schneider encourages parents to send kids to school, but says its ultimately up to each individual parent.
