The Owensboro Public School District is about to embark on a $22 million expansion project at the High School. Thursday they broke ground to start the construction process for a new two-story gym. It will include a walking track, PE and team locker rooms and health classrooms. The new gym will also allow space for students to be in one location for assemblies and other meetings. Site preparation is expected to be complete by late summer with construction scheduled to begin in September. The entire project is expected to be completed by early 2010.
