The state of Indiana is repaying its debt owed to local governments.
Friday, Governor Mitch Daniels ordered the remaining $212 million be repaid by the end of May.
That would be a year ahead of schedule.
In 2002, the State delayed payments to K-12 schools, higher education and local governments while in an extended period of deficit spending.
Repayments were ordered to begin in 2006.
Vanderburgh County is owed $6.2 million, Warrick $1.8 million, Posey $1.2 million and Gibson County will be repaid almost $1.1 million.
