Future plans for the Abraham Lincoln bicentennial painting were unveiled Monday and more than 1000 school children got to be there. The "Life of Abraham Lincoln" painting was created by Thomas Kennedy of Spencer County in honor of the President's 200th birthday. The artist and the painting has been visiting Indiana classrooms for the past several months, using the painting to help students understand Lincoln's life and his connection to the Hoosier state. Monday, members of the special Bicentennial Commission and the Indiana Department of Education announced they hope to have a copy of the painting in every school in the state. Officials are now looking for a sponsor to make this project a reality. Anyone interested in a sponsorship should contact the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission in Lincoln City. The groups chairperson is Connie Nass. You can contact her at 812-617-1740.
