breaking news
While helping with hurricane cleanup Randy Hobgood fell in love with the open atmosphere of coastal cities--so much so it inspired him to invest his life savings into opening Big Daddys in downtown Henderson.
But not everyone is happy about the merry-making at night-spots like Big Daddys.
With the latest addition of another music venue En El Rio--city officials are concerned about the amount of noise coming from the area.
The city does have a noise ordinance--but officials say its too subjective.
Now theyre looking at buying equipment that would measure the level of noise.
Sights says the city is also considering a two tier noise system, where more intense sound would be allowed in the early evening, with the levels changing after ten.
Hobgood is okay with taking the music levels down a notch--as long as the city doesnt take it away altogether
Without live music--Hobgood says--big daddys would disappear--and with it, the spirit of the riverfront.
Right now city officials are just looking at their options and investigating different alternatives to the current ordinance
