Weinzapfel No Ticket

Evansville Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel has put to rest speculation about his political future.
Weinzapfel said Thursday he does not want to be considered as a possible running mate for democratic candidate for governor, Jill Long Thompson.
In a statement, the mayor said, it is more important to concentrate on commitments in evansville rather than run for lieutenant governor.
Weinzapfel said he has challenges yet to tackle such as the future of Roberts Stadium, storm water projects, and the budget.
But he said hes flattered to be considered.
