Owensboro's Mayor Reacts to Rivermont Closure

Marshall Investments decided Friday to close down Owensboros Executive Inn Rivermont. The 400-room hotels last day will be Monday. The Rivermont has been an Owensboro staple for 30 years. However, the decision to close the Executive Inn should not come as a huge surprise to anyone. Owensboro Mayor Tom Watson calls the entire process "convoluted". He says hes not sure why the investment company would buy the hotel and then close it without trying to keep it open, but the Mayor knows the city will move on.
