Rain or Shine for Skelton Festivities

News Release From: red Skelton Festival Rain or shine, Saturday parade will kick off Skelton Festival VINCENNES, IND. – The Third Annual Red Skelton Festival and Gala will return to Vincennes on June 14. Rain or shine, the festival will begin with a “Parade of a Clowns” at 11 a.m. (EDT), through downtown Vincennes. Other scheduled events include the “Paint the Town Red Festival” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Patrick Henry Drive with free stage entertainment, attractions for children, and food and craft booths. There will also be tours of Red Skelton’s boyhood home and other community attractions. Highlighting the Red Skelton Gala will be a benefit concert by recording artist Crystal Gayle and her touring orchestra from Nashville, Tenn., at 7 p.m. at Vincennes University’s Red Skelton Performing Arts Center. A tribute to Red Skelton, proceeds from the Gala will be used to complete the Red Skelton Museum and Education Center that is currently under development adjacent to the Skelton Center.
