The Indiana State Bar Association established a toll-free number for flood victims in those counties approved for federal assistance.
The eight counties designated are Knox, Daviess, Bartholomew, Hancock, Johnson, Marion, Monroe, Morgan, Vermilion and Vigo.
There are expected to be more counties included when damage assessments are complete.
Anyone who calls the number, 1-800-266-2581, will get free legal information about insurance claims, home repair contracts, problems with landlords and replacing legal documents.
The number will be operated Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m, Eastern time.
