Transformer Explosion Update

Failure of a piece of electrical equipment was the cause of a fire on a transformer near Culvert and Green River Saturday night.
Around 15-hundred residents were without power for about an hour while Vectren crews worked to fix the problem.
Billows of black smoke could be seen across the city when the fire started just before nine oclock
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.
