The top of the Democrat ticket is set for this fall's election in Indiana.
Gubernatorial nominee Jill Long-Thompson has selected State Representative Dennie Oxley to be her running mate in the November election.
Oxley is from Sellersburg in southern Indiana.
He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1998 and currently serves as the Majority Whip.
Oxley and Long-Thompson say this race is about Mitch Daniels.
Oxley says, "We do not need a governor who continues to go around this state and talk about how rosy the picture is and about how great things are and who is obviously out touch and out of step with working men and women throughout this state. He wants to refer to an island of prosperity. Well he must be referring to Fantasy Island because he's not referring to the state of Indiana."
Evansville Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel introduced Long-Thompson and Oxley at their news conference at Tri-state Aero in Vanderburgh County.
Weinzapfel was said to be a favorite for the nomination until he took his name out of consideration several weeks ago.
