Human Leg Found Sticking Out Of Cemetery Ground
(Homewood, IL) -- A visitor to a cemetery in Homewood, Illinois made a grisly discovery Sunday afternoon -- a human leg on top of a pile of dirt.
Cook County Sheriffs officials say the right leg was found near a paupers grave area at the Homewood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in unincorporated Thornton Township.
A spokesperson says Homewood Memorial Gardens Cemetery officials were working in the area on Friday.
The leg still had a foot, skin and muscles attached.
Police do not suspect criminal activity, but the leg was taken to the County medical examiners office.
